The Promise686 team recently co-led, alongside Olive Crest, a Family Advocacy Ministry clinic in Los Angeles where church leaders and volunteers were trained on supporting foster families, adoptive families, and biological families in crisis. During the clinic, they heard from a panelist who, during her foster care experience, was brought into a loving family served by a strong care community. As she shared her story, she mentioned how being in a safe family allowed her dream about who she might become and what she might do in the future.
When we think of caring for at-risk children, we often think of the tangible needs, emotional healing, or spiritual support. Imagination doesn’t often come to mind, but is a basic need every child should have met. We’re thankful for all of you who are supporting vulnerable children and giving them the gift of dreaming about their future.
